PHANTOMS IMPROVING OUR SOCIAL MEDIA, WEBSITE AND APP
Since early January, the West Michigan Phantoms and our hockey network consisting of the Zombies and Lakeside Locomotives, has been improving our digital footprint with new graphics, improved website design and while much of the template work has been done behind the scenes, the hard work and drive is now coming to life as our fans and players can see. The Phantoms have hosted a website since the very days and we feel our site and social media rivals that of many junior and professional teams. Communication is always the most difficult aspect in today's world and we hope that our attention to detail makes our network stronger and above the others. If you see any issues with our website or social media, please contact us to let us know. If you have any ideas for new features or content, please also feel free to reach out. We also love hearing the chirps from other teams and players...it really gives us motivation to keep striving to make our footprint better.
MUSKEGON'S GUN vs. HOSES GAME SET FOR APRIL 13TH
Each year members of the area Fire Departments and Police Departments square off in a fun-filled charity hockey game at Lakeshore Sports Centre in Muskegon. This year, the event will take place on Saturday, April 13th at 5:00pm. From silent auctions, 50/50 raffles, Chuck-A-Puck, in addition to the donation at the door for your tickets, money raised goes to help area families in need. This year, one individual is a 15 year girl with a very rare and aggressive bone cancer and the other individual is a 5 year old girl who diagnosed with systematic onset juvenile idiopathic arthritis (sJIA). For more information on Guns and Hoses and their 2024 event, please visit their website at https://www.muskegongunsandhoses.com. From their site, you can also make online donations.
STEVE CLARK BATTLING CANCER: STRONGER TOGETHER
As the Fall/Winter season continues to roll on, some may have noticed a piece of the Zombies missing from the lineup. This same piece has been absent from the sidelines of the Phantoms this season as well. Steve Clark, a longtime defensemen on the Zombies and father of Kyle and Matt Clark, has been absent from the ice since mid-June. At first what was thought to be a possible infection, turned out to be colon cancer. In early October, Steve had surgery to remove the cancerous part of his colon. During the surgery, it was discovered that some of the cancer spread to his bladder. During the next several months, Steve will undergo chemotherapy to fight the remaining cancer. Steve remains positive and ready to fight this non-ice battle. Jenna Clark (wife of Kyle Clark) and Nicole Clark (wife of Matt Clark) have created a t-shirt campaign to spread awareness of Steve’s condition and rally the troops for Steve’s fight. ‘Stronger Together: His Fight Is Our Fight’ is a battle that we are all in and stand together to give support to Steve and his family.
